If you're looking for a charming, low-fidelity tool for quick brainstorming sessions or sketching out basic concepts, Excalidraw is your best choice. Its hand-drawn aesthetic is perfect for illustrative purposes and is especially suited for developers sketching architecture or quick notes. However, avoid it if you need high-fidelity, polished diagrams due to its lighter feature set.
On the other hand, if you need a robust solution for managing a collection of photos and videos, especially if privacy and control are priorities, go with immich. It’s high-performance and self-hosted, giving you complete control over your media. However, be prepared for a technical setup and limited integrations; this isn't the right choice if you prefer the convenience of cloud solutions or need extensive third-party app compatibility.
