If you prioritize privacy and control over your media files, choose immich. Its self-hosted nature means you have complete management of your photos and videos, which is ideal for tech-savvy individuals who value security. However, prepare for a more complex setup process and fewer integrations compared to cloud solutions. Avoid immich if you prefer the convenience of cloud storage or need extensive third-party app support.
On the other hand, select WinDirStat if you're a Windows user looking to identify and reclaim disk space. Its treemap visualization makes it easy to spot large files, and being completely free and open source is a big plus. However, its dated interface and potential lag on large drives can be drawbacks. If you desire a cross-platform solution with a modern interface, WinDirStat may not meet your needs.
