For a solo user on Windows looking for a modern file management experience, choose Files. Its user-friendly WinUI 3 interface with tabs and dual panes enhances navigation and organization, addressing the limitations of traditional File Explorer. It's a solid choice if you appreciate open-source software, but keep in mind it’s Windows-exclusive, offering no cross-platform flexibility.
If you're after a versatile tool for personal organization or project management that works across various platforms, go for Obsidian. Its customizable nature and local storage provide excellent privacy and flexibility for note-taking and knowledge management. However, if you require real-time collaboration or cloud features, Obsidian may not suit your needs as it’s designed for personal use.
